Updates

I'm sorry about abandoning my blog lately. I've just been so lazy. And my work has been draining me out a lot because a few of my coworkers are on their vacations so I've been given a lot more hours than usual. Let's start with the first day of July: Canada Day.

I guess it's become a tradition for us to go to this every Canada Day. The City Hall was under renovation so Square One was cool enough to lend their rooftops. Last year's fireworks were definitely better though. What a waste of apparently about 20 million CAD. So this is how they spend our tax money haha.

Today was so hot out and Nerissa and Alyssa came over. The plan was to make cheesecake at my house but having used all my baking ingredients, they would have had to spend $20 for the ingredients so they ended up buying a box of pre-made cheesecake. It was okay but I still prefer homemade ones because I know what I put in. This is us walking to the bus stop so we can go to Bubble Republic to buy bubble tea (except Nerissa who went home).

And I shall leave you all with a FOTD featuring two different lips because I couldn't decide which one lol.

Products used:
Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse foundation in Pure Beige
ELF Tone Correcting Concealer in Apricot Beige
NYC Blushable Creme Sticks in Plaza Pink
Maybelline Dream Matte Powder in Honey
ELF Blush in Candid Coral
Elf Blush and Contouring Powder (just the bronzer part to contour)
ELF Brozing Powder in Luminance (for highlighting)
Too Faced eyeshadow insurance
ELF Quad in Butternut
ELF Black Cream liner
Maybelline Lash Stilleto waterproof mascara (which I don't like actually)
Rimmel Eyebrow pencil in Hazel

with Mac Viva Glam Gaga lipstick

with Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstain in Wink of Pink

closeup:

What do I think of this lipstain? It's my first lipstain that I've tried so I can't really compare to other ones. But it's really not drying like some lipstains that I've read reviews of. This doesn't have a balm included like the other long lasting colour things Maybelline or Covergirl has. The only thing is that I picked up this colour because of how amazing it looks on the model in the promo image. This is a lot redder than pink, more like a raspberry pink-red. The closeup looks pinker because of the flash but the full face is more accurate of the colour in real life. I don't think the lasting power is that good for a stain because I was expecting 4-5 hours. Although, the times I've worn it, I was also eating. But I still think the colour fades away pretty fast but I actually do like it overall, but I don't wanna try the other colours because this is one of their lightest shades. Imagine how dark the other ones would be!

Perfect weather

Bright sun, slight wind, and sweet sago't gulaman on one hand. ♥

Look at this boy hogging all of it :(

Jasmine's back from NJ btw. Her voice changed. She sounds like she's trying too hard to sound like a baby...

My ELF order finally arrived and the stuff I bought from Sasquatch Swatch's blog sale.

I shall do a proper review of everything but that's probably gonna take a while lol... Any requests which one first?

FOTD: Pinkish Purple with Yellow-Gold

The weather was absolutely horrid today and has been this entire week. It has made me a bed potato because I hate having to deal with the rain when I'm out to have fun, especially since I take the public transit. As in I would sleep from 4AM to 1:30Pm. Eat. Shower. Laptop/TV until 6pm. Eat. Sleep from 9pm to 2am. Lol that is a complete disastrous schedule isn't it? Anyway, I was bored so I did my makeup with some stuff I reunited with after I cleaned up my makeup drawers. You know when you end up using the same stuff everyday and some good products end up in the very back of your drawer? I'd hate to keep them dusted so here ya go!

To be honest, I had to photoshop this one because I've gotten a few breakouts due to the reason that I am a girl and every girl suffers once a week per month. (Hopefully you know what I'm talking about.. lol).

Products used

Face (notice the ridiculous number of products used for my face because I tried using a technique I read from this book. I forget the name, something All About Faces. It says to put cream blushes and cream highlighters first then concealer then foundation. I then set it with the powder and the Booster then put the powder blush and powder highlighter.) :
  • Rimmel Fix & Perfect Primer
  • ELF All over cover stick in Light Beige
  • Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation
  • Maybelline Dream Matte powder in Medium 3-4
  • Rimmel Sun Shimmer Shimmering Maxi Bronzer in Sun Love (contouring)
  • ELF All Over Color Stick in Persimmon (Cream pinkish highlighter)
  • ELF Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder in Luminance (highlighter on top of above product)
  • ELF Mineral Booster in Sheer
  • MAC Joie de Vivre Cremeblend Blush
  • NARS Orgasm Blush
  • MAC Fix+

Eyes (I forgot to take a picture of the colours I used from the palette but it's basically the darker gold mixed with a yellow):
  • ELF Mineral Eyeshadow Primer
  • Urban Decay in Last Call (pinkish purple on crease. Not photographed because it is still drying. Read previous previous post to know why.)
  • Manly 120 Eyeshadow palette (golden yellow on lid)
  • Rimmel Colour Rush Quad Eye Shadow in 002 Smokey Brun (brow highlight)
  • Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil in Hazel
  • NYC Liquid Eyeliner (HATE this one. Just using it up now... The handle's too long to manoeuvre and the formula flakes. As in I could feel the crackiness once it's dried.)
  • Rimmel London Eye Magnifier Eye Opening Mascara in Black
  • Annabelle Kohl Eyeliner in White (waterline)

Lips:
  • NYC Ultra Moist Lipwear in 308B Retro Red (I only dabbed it a bit to get a lip stained effect)
  • Annabelle Le Gloss l/g in Icy Ginger
Then a final spritz of Fix+ and voila!

Sparkly Tropical

It's usually around this time I get super bored (2AM).
So I do whatever I think of to pass the time because I cannot sleep like always...
My hands are super sparkly due to this haha I love it :)

Anyway, I had a pink smokey eye at work and then I tried to try Panacea (from YT)'s tutorial for Ke$ha's makeup. I used the Annabelle Smoothliner in Black because I didn't wanna waste my Mac blacktrack. Then some L.A. colors loose eyeshadow in black pearl (a glittery black) on top and to blend. The black, grudge look does not look very good on me... Although the glitters in the black was super pretty! So I dabbed on some L.A. colors glitters (fairy dust then honeysuckle). It turned to a grayish sparkly eye. Still blahh so I put on some UD Midnight Cowboy Rides again and that gave it some warmth. Then I decided to pull up my 120 Palette and put on some green, turquoise blue, and some yellow (only it didn't really show up. But it's there in the crease I swear!) I used L'oreal Telescopic Carbon Black Mascara. I have MAC Pink Nouveau and MAC Totally It Lipglass on my lips. It kinda faded away because I was doing some recording and did not touch up. For my face, I have Maybelline Dream Liquid Foundation and ELF Mineral Booster with MAC Vintage Grape Blush and NYC Bronzer for contouring.

Here's the closeup:

PS. Sorry I was too lazy to list lol.

PPS. Here are my nails lately. Clearly my cuticles are dry haha! I blame work!!

PPPS. Here's the camera I thiefed from my Kuya xD.

another elf haul loool

I'm sorryyyyyyyy Jaimee!!!
LOL.
So I ordered more from eyeslipsface.com and just got my stuff in the mail today. This is by no means bragging of what I bought but for those of you out there who want to know about elf products or those of you who buy overpriced products from other brands such as Mac (ahem Rheena :P) can find out that you can get high quality products for so much cheaper. (umm I dont even know if that sentence made sense hahaha). And since I'm a loser with no life (Mike's at GI practice... -.-) I took pictures of swatches of some of them.
These are the the lip products swatches on my arm:

(L-R: Plumping Lip Glaze Ruby Kiss, Plumping Lip Glaze Baby Doll, Plumping Lip Glaze Mocha Ice, Luscious Liquid Lipstick Brownie Points, Hypershine Gloss Fairy, Hypershine Gloss Vixen, Super Glossy Lip Shine Angel)

Hypershine Gloss Fairy ($1)

Hypershine Gloss Vixen ($1)

Moisture Care Lip Color Brownie Points ($1)

Super Glossy Lip Shine SPF 15 Angel ($1)

Plumping Lip Glaze Mocha Ice ($1)

Plumping Lip Glaze Ruby Kiss ($1)

Plumping Lip Glaze Baby Doll ($1)

So my overall opinion on these new lippies are that they are all good for glosses especially the more neutral colours. I like the red ones because they actually show up on my lips while the rest just give my lips shine. The plumping lip glaze formula smells horrible (supposed to smell minty) and doesn't plump (or at least I don't notice it...). When I put it on, it's like putting a mint chapstick on it or something. The luscious liquid lipstick has the same bad smell as the plumping one. I LOVE the smell of the Hypershine glosses though. It really does smell like cotton candy!!! :D As for the Super glossy lip shine, I have 3 in other colours and the smell is okay. It's described as grape vanilla, which it does. Also, they are a bit sticky... but I guess you get your dollar's worth lol.

Eye Shadow Brush ($1)
I obviously had to get another one of this because I love it! It's great for packing on eyeshadow and you obviously can't beat the price! But my new one is longer than the my other one and the bristles are a bit pointier in the middle (i don't mean sharp but the shape of it if that makes sense... )

Glow Bronzing Powder in Luminance ($1)
This is an AWESOME highlighter. No chunks of glitter and gives great results yayyy

Concealer pencil and brush in fair ($3)
The formula on this really does cover. But it comes with this stupid sharpener cover on it and stupid me tried it and it made it so dirty. Do not use that sharpener if you want to keep it clean..

Studio Complexion Brush ($3)
The studio brushes are AMAZINGLY soft. The $1 total face brush is a lot bigger than this though but I use this to highlight above my cheekbones.

Studio Powder Brush ($3)
I've heard from Connie that this is good for stippling on foundation. I tried today and she is right! I can stipple all day because this feels so nice on my face!! LOL

Studio Contour Brush ($3)
I was expecting this to be a bit smaller than the $1 one but the $1 is a bit softer which makes it a bit harder to pack on colour.

Studio Blush Brush ($3)
I was expecting this to be a bit bigger for some reason... Like my cheeks aren't big and this seems to be a bit small for my cheeks. I hated the $1 one because it feels prickly and barely picks up any product.

Mineral Booster Large-Sheer ($8)
I had to get another one of this because I'm halfway done mine. This is a great finishing powder and the first mineral powder that does not break me out... I'm still scared to try mineral makeup though ever since my experience with Everyday minerals..

Mineral Eyeshadow Primer in Sheer ($3)
Holy begeez they didn't have this in my package and I was super annoyed. At least they have good customer service where I got someone to fix it right away.

PS. They sent me this clarifying pressed powder in tone 1 which I didn't order.. I guess they mistakenly put this one in instead of the primer.. haha oh well sucks for them. :) This pressed powder is supposed to blot oil and I guess it works?
PPS. Keep in mind that I just got these today looool. And yes I washed the brushes before using them. Do NOT ever use brushes without washing them first, no matter where you bought them from (elf, sephora, mac etc).

makeup update

For my face:

I recently bought St. Ives Moisturizer because I never really put on any moisturizer before but I decided to try it. I read reviews on MUA and they reviewed this one pretty well. Also the price is so cheap so that's another plus. I use it in the morning/before putting up makeup and at night after I wash my face. It "wakes" up my face and it feels nice :)

Then I got the Rimmel Fix & Perfect primer just the other day since my MUFE primer was nada for so long now. It has an orange kind of tint and I was like wtf primers are usually clear right? But it was like 6 bucks so why not? I dont know if it's this product or my face being weird again but my face is sometimes itchy in random spots but anyway I'm gonna try it out for about another week or so and find out.

I use the Physicians Formula Twin Concealer (green and beige)and I really like it because I need both the green (for redness) and beige for blemishes and undereye circles. It never broke me out so that's good. I sometimes use the E.L.F. concealer (I think it's the medium shade) and it smells like oranges (yummm) but the packaging is weird. It's that twisty tube thing and sometimes when I twist it, it doesnt go up but like it comes off idk it's weird but not a biggie. I also sometimes use the Clinique concealer (which I thought was a weird shade of lipstick before haha) and it's really thick but I'm just kinda eery about it since I don't know how old it is. (I think it's been discontinued as well. The picture I put up has different packaging from mine... maybe I shouldn't use it anymore lol...)

Then my Revlon Colortstay foundation in Natural Tan. I bought a new foundation brush because the E.L.F. one I got is horrible after a while. It's like stiff now and you're better off blending with your hands. I got the Ecotools Bamboo Foundation brush which I LOVE LOVE LOVE! It's super soft and super easy to blend foundation with. It's also organic so yayyy! :)
